Instead of typing, you can send a voice message in Telegram. HomiAgent understands the audio and answers just as it would a text message.

How to use it

1

Record your message

In the chat with @homiagent_bot, hold the microphone button and say what you want.
2

Release to send

HomiAgent runs the command, answers your question, or asks you a question back if it needs to.
It works with anything you’d ask in writing. See Talking to your home for examples.

Languages

You don’t have to pick a language. Speak your own, and HomiAgent recognizes it. It answers in the language of your message.

What it costs

A voice message pays for the transcription (per minute of audio) plus the reply, like a text message. See How credits work for the current price.

If it doesn’t understand

If the audio can’t be understood, for example because it’s too quiet or noisy, the bot tells you it couldn’t understand the voice message and asks you to try again or type it.
For better results, speak close to the microphone, at a steady pace, in a quiet place, and use the names you gave your rooms and devices.

What works and what doesn’t

  • Works: Telegram voice messages (recorded by holding the microphone button).
  • Doesn’t work: audio files sent as attachments, videos, and video messages. The bot replies that it couldn’t open the file.
